  • 250 g honey
  • 250 g of brown sugar
  • 150 g butter
  • 400 g of flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 2 teaspoons of gingerbread spice
  • zest of lemon
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa
  • 1 egg

The trick of the beautiful gingerbread dough lies in the preparation. The dough needs to rest in the refrigerator for at least a day. Here are the steps for preparing the batter:

  1. Honey, sugar and butter are heated in a large saucepan. Don’t forget to stir the mixture. When the sugar dissolves, let the mixture cool.
  2. Flour, cocoa, cinnamon, lemon peel, gingerbread spice and the egg are mixed together in a saucepan. Mix the two mixtures together and knead the entire mixture thoroughly using a hand mixer.
  3. Cover the pot with foil and leave it in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
