Colors bring a spirited atmosphere

Jenna calls Decatur a mix of the fictional community of Mayberry and the real city of Berkeley, California.

We are dealing with a small town with a cosmopolitan feel. It is filled with great houses from the 1920s. But the building that she built with her husband comes out of the 1980s with its unique style. You can see triangular windows, cheap sheet metal fittings and shapes that people love to talk about. They redesigned these to look like the rest of the ones on the street.

Jenna has added traditional molds alongside fun colors and fabrics. The designer shares: “I love the colors because they make the house and the people in it really happy. I always knew that I wanted to use more of it “.

The fabrics are also shown in the curtains.

Caleb is the chef in the family and that’s why she chose a light gray-blue male for the furnishings. Benjamin Moore’s Wythe Blue was used on the walls. Two sets of brightly colored café curtains enliven the room.

The kitchen is two steps away from the living room. There was already a sunken living room and it was decided to keep it. I love the openness, but I also like to hide the kitchen from guests. The sunken living room makes it possible for me to have both. “

The living room and the kitchen are optically separated by the color of the wall

The dining area in the kitchen is where the family eats and the girls do their chores. I like to spend time in the kitchen so I can see the kids here and in the living room.

Warm colors like yellow and orange promote digestion and are therefore often used in the dining area

Jenna created a pantry that separates the kitchen from the dining room. My husband loves to have a place to store things and collect drinks for the parties.

The pantry leads to the dining room, where Jenna has selected a color palette based on the Herend Queen Victoria China collection that has been collected over many years. Light pink fabric provides a gorgeous background for the portrait of your father. At the same time, the gold and white wallpaper looks like a wonderful wrap for the China collection.

Play of colors! – Do you think this color mixture is successful, or at least not?

Jenna loves the southern traditions and likes to stick to them. She represented them with bed pillows and duvets with a monogram. She says she can’t remember how it all started, but her mom laughs that if she ever gets divorced, she’ll surely get this set.

The designer is considering turquoise and navy blue, although many other people don’t. In their opinion, it can be used with anything

The master bathroom has a vanity. She says she has the heart of a typical young girl. She is also the mother of two such. I wanted to have a place where I could have my own space.

She realizes that not everyone will share her feeling for color. Jenna has decorated the guest rooms with neutral shades. But she clearly showed her real colored nature, created a wall furnished in Chinese style and covered it with Lulu DK fabrics.

Guest rooms in neutral tones – browns and greens

Jenna wanted to make a day bed in her 3 year old child’s room. In this case, however, removal from a headboard would be impossible.

Both girls, one of whom is 1 year old Lottie, share a bathroom. Jenna was really hoping the second child would be a girl too, so the pink decoration worked really well. The black and white wallpaper serves as a calming element against the electrical color.

The family room is painted in green. This is Jenna’s favorite color too. The striped, multi-colored carpet is ideal, you won’t notice any stains on it. Jenna has upholstered the surface of a game trunk here to make it an additional seating option.

It couldn’t be fresher and livelier

The washroom is only part of the family room. There the clothes can be washed and folded while the children play.

Mint green and silver – you won’t find it a great color combination?

All rooms surround the game room. This is a strategic move.

Do you also love colors? Do you like to put this at the center of your home design? Hopefully Jenna’s ideas could help you.
